Cellmate Solutions, Inc. was established with a focus on meal programs for individuals, offering healthier options, following dietary requirements dictated by religion and health requirements, and providing Administrative Management solutions for those in charge of meal program.
We deliver meals, beverages, and self-care managed through a Cellmate proprietary, industry leading software application, provided through the kitchen and are looking for a Kitchen Manager, who under the direction of the Director of Foods and the Jail Administrator, will support the account’s operations team in managing wellbeing and all compliance, culinary, hygiene, and safety-related tasks.
About the position:
- Minimum Pay $20.00 an hour

- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to explain instructions and guidelines to others effectively.

- The ability to manage in a diverse environment while placing a priority on client and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, without limitation:
- The capacity to function effectively in a structured Correctional environment.
- Responsible to coordinate Correctional meal preparation to create stability and consistency within the operation including
- food preparation/cooking, sanitation, and housekeeping in all prep, storage, freezer, cooler, and reach-in areas, upkeep of kitchen tools and equipment as well as the cleaning of various storage and work locations.
- preparation of menu in accordance with the predetermined recipes, food allowance and how much food needs to be cooked accordingly.
- Ability to use a computer for required, but not limited to
- navigating through all required compliance to fulfill daily requirements to open and close the kitchen successfully.
- coordinating and scheduling required tasks in the kitchen.
- managing inventory and supplies (ordered, acquired, inspected, stored, and inventoried under this role’s supervision).
- overseeing the serving and delivery of the meals, and distributing the food to the appropriate areas. In addition, preparing/ staging required meal service for weekends and holidays.
- maintaining required forms to include meal counts, refrigerator temperatures and log sheets.
- Ensure all kitchen policies and procedures are initiated and followed and that County procedures are followed at all times to include, maintaining security of door to kitchen area at all times, communicating any customer complaints and issues to immediate supervisor and as required fill out required forms.
- Serves as lead cook on shift in the preparation, baking and cooking of meals in Cook’s absence.
Requirements to include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Cellmate promotes work life balance. Some weekend and holiday coverage may be required (to be discussed further during interview process).
- Knowledge of state and government regulations and Department of Correction’s standards is a plus.
